Joe Rogan justifica entrevista polêmica com Cormier após nocaute sofrido

Joe Rogan quebrou uma regra sua após a luta principal do UFC 241 realizado no último sábado (17), em Anaheim (EUA). O comentarista oficial do Ultimate havia se comprometido a não realizar entrevistas ainda no octógono com atletas que tivessem acabado de sofrer derrotas por nocaute. Entretanto, Rogan não seguiu a norma ao entrevistar Daniel Cormier poucos minutos após o revés sofrido diante de Stipe Miocic.

Apesar de ter sido nocauteado, 'DC' se portou bem e demonstrou clareza em suas declarações sobre o confronto e seu futuro no esporte. Mesmo assim, o comentarista recebeu críticas pela internet por ter entrevistado um lutador que poderia ter acabado de sofrer uma concussão. Através de sua conta oficial no aplicativo 'Instagram', Rogan se defendeu das acusações e explicou suas razões para ter prosseguido com o trabalho (veja abaixo ou clique aqui).

"Algumas pessoas ficaram confusas por eu ter entrevistado 'DC' após a luta mesmo já tendo declarado publicamente que eu não acho uma boa ideia entrevistar lutadores após serem nocauteados. Eu acho que a maior parte do dano sofrido por 'DC' foi em razão dos golpes brutais levados no corpo, e apesar do Stipe tê-lo derrubado com golpes na cabeça, ele nunca esteve completamente apagado. Ele parecia bem após se levantar (...). Eu estava pensando na possibilidade desta ter sido a última vez que vimos 'DC' no octógono. Eu o amo e nunca o colocaria em uma posição ruim, mas eu tomei uma decisão e senti que era a certa", argumentou Joe Rogan em sua postagem na rede social.

A regra, imposta pelo próprio comentarista, foi criada em setembro de 2016, quando, ao entrevistar Alistair Overeem que havia sofrido um nocaute pelas mãos do mesmo Miocic, o holandês deu declarações desconexas com a realidade. Além da entrevista ainda no octógono, Cormier também participou sem problemas da coletiva de imprensa após o evento.

O ex-campeão peso-meio-pesado (93 kg) e peso-pesado, de 40 anos, deixou no ar a possibilidade de encerrar a carreira após o último revés. Caso opte pela aposentadoria, o americano deve ser um dos próximos membros do 'Hall da Fama' da organização. O atleta já há alguns anos também participa como comentarista em alguns eventos e programas de televisão.

What a crazy night! The @yoelromeromma vs @borrachinhamma lived up to the hype! Just an absolutely insane fight! The shots @yoelromeromma is able to endure seriously defy logic. The man is made out of some other worldly material. It was a crazy close fight that could have gone either way. Many people I spoke to thought Yoel won. I will have to watch it again and try to score it myself. Amazing fight either way. I'm glad @natediaz209 is getting the love and respect he deserves. I've been saying for years he's the most under appreciated super star in the UFC roster. The roar when that man walked into the arena was second to none, and the fight was excellent. Congrats to the GOAT heavyweight @stipemiocic for regaining his crown and cementing his legacy as a legend! Some people were confused as to why I interviewed DC after the fight because I've publicly stated that I don't think it's a good idea to interview fighters after they've been KO'ed. I think most of what happened to DC was those brutal body shots, and although Stipe dropped him with head shots he was never out cold, and seemed clear headed after he stood up and the results were announced to the crowd and Stipe got the belt given to him. The UFC asked for an interview, and I asked DC if he was ok with it, and he said, Yes. I think interviewing fighters after a brutal loss is kinda sketchy, but I was also thinking that it's possible that this may be the last time we see DC in the octagon. I love DC, and I would never want to put him in a bad position, but I made a judgment call and felt this would be alright. Whatever he decides to do from here on out the man is a future hall of famer and one of the best to ever do it. It will be very interesting to see what he decides to do from here out. The undercard has some amazing fights too. Just a great fight night overall! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
